Summer Staples: Tinted Moisturizers

SummerStaples

As spring rolls in and the weather warms up I find myself spending more time outdoors being active. As the mama of an almost two year old (when did that happened) we run around in the yard, blow bubbles, color on sidewalks, go to the park, and will soon be at the pool.  As the mama of a three year old dog who weighs too much for his own good we go on long walks.  And as a mama who’s trying to get back into shape, I’m either running outside or at the gym.

During all of this time I like to feel good about myself, and even if I may sweat most of it off, I still put on a little makeup to help that cause.

With the weather warming up my full coverage has just felt too heavy so I’ve opted for some lighter options.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

The Goal: Adjust to your skin tone and blur out imperfections all while working as a sunblock.

The Good: SPF 30 keeps your skin protected on those hot summer days. It also blurs those imperfections (yes, I have them too) perfectly and would make a great primer.

The No-Go: Unfortunately for me this was just too sheer to wear on its own, but as a primer its been great.

L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion

The Goal: To hydrate your skin while giving it a natural glow.  It can be used on its own as a tinted moisturizer for an all-over glow, or on top of make up to highlight and contour.

The Good: The sheen and highlight to this is beautiful.  It’s one of my new-favorite bronzers because it’s so light and gives me that glowy summer look.

The No-Go: I chose the medium tone, afraid the light would be too light.  As an allover tinted moisturizer it gives you the glow, but doesn’t do anything as far as coverage.  But I will continue to use it as a bronzer.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat All-In-One Glow

The Goal: An all-in-one tinted moisturizes that helps brighten your complexion while smoothing fine lines.

The Good: JACK POT! I recently did a review of this product for Sephora, and it couldn’t have come into my life at a better time.  It’s the best tinted moisturizer I’ve tried in a while, gives the perfect medium coverage, and smells amazing.  Add a little Glotion on top and you’ve got the perfect, effortless summer-ready look.
